It is important that you feel comfortable with your psychiatrist. In order to help you I will encourage you to be honest and open about how you feel, including discussing things that you consider to be personal.. You will likely be more involved in the treatment plan if you feel that your psychiatrist ‘gets you’, and if you have respect for your psychiatrist.
